About this piece
Meet the Olive Wood Salad Toss Set — a balanced, 2-piece, hand-carved kitchen utensil set shaped from sustainably sourced Mediterranean olive wood on the Greek island of Lesvos.
The wide, smooth shape is built to lift, toss, and serve salads, vegetables, and sides without bruising delicate greens or breaking up tender ingredients. The spatula-style piece doubles as a versatile everyday tool for various kitchen tasks beyond the salad bowl. Smooth-sanded and finished with our food-safe care balm, both pieces are safe for non-stick cookware.
Olive wood is naturally dense, water-resistant, and beautifully grained — every set carries its own swirl of honey, amber, and chocolate tones, so no two are alike.
Each piece is carved by a refugee artisan rebuilding their life through fair, steady work. Buying one helps fund a livelihood, not just a sale.
What's included: 2-piece toss set (fork + spatula).

The story
Every piece in this salad set began as a branch of a wild olive tree on the island of Lesvos — the same island where, a few years ago, our makers arrived by boat with little more than the clothes on their backs. Today they spend their days in a small workshop, carving olive wood into utensils sold around the world. Every piece is signed by the hand that made it and traceable back to its maker by QR code. When you serve with these pieces, you're holding a small piece of that story — Greek olive groves, refugee craftsmanship, and the slow, deliberate work of rebuilding a life one piece at a time.
Frequently asked
Hand wash only, with mild soap and warm water — never soak or place in the dishwasher. Towel dry immediately and let it air dry fully before storing.
Every 1–2 months (or whenever the wood looks dry), rub a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil or olive oil or care balm into the toss set with a soft cloth, let it absorb overnight, then wipe off any excess. With this simple ritual, your toss set will stay smooth, water-resistant, and beautiful for decades.
Each piece is carved one at a time from a single block of olive wood, so grain pattern, color and shape will vary slightly. That's part of what makes yours one of a kind.
