    About this piece

Meet the Kitchen Essentials Set — a 4-piece set of hand-crafted olive wood utensils, shaped from sustainably sourced Mediterranean olive wood on the Greek island of Lesvos. Four versatile pieces cover most everyday kitchen tasks: flipping with the spatula, mixing and tasting with the artisan circle spoon, stirring thick batters and sauces with the spurtle, and scraping stuck-on food with the scraper spoon. Each utensil is smooth-sanded, finished with our food-safe olive wood care balm, and safe for non-stick cookware. Olive wood is naturally dense, water-resistant, and beautifully grained — every piece carries its own swirl of honey, amber, and chocolate tones, so no two are alike. Every piece is crafted by a refugee artisan rebuilding their life through fair, steady work. Buying this set helps fund a livelihood, not just a sale. What's included (4 pieces): 1 Spatula with Herb Stripper 1 Artisan Circle Spoon 1 Spurtle 1 Simple Scraper Spoon

    The story

Every piece in this 4-piece set began as a branch of a wild olive tree on the island of Lesvos — the same island where, a few years ago, our makers arrived by boat with little more than the clothes on their backs. Today, they spend their days in a small workshop, carving olive wood into utensils sold around the world. Every piece is signed by the hand that made it and traceable back to its maker by QR code. When you cook with these utensils, you're holding a small piece of that story — Greek olive groves, refugee craftsmanship, and the slow, deliberate work of rebuilding a life one piece at a time.

    Customer reviews

    • I've bought a set for myself, with a ladle, and a set as a housewarming gift for my aunt. Her grandmother {my great grandmother} was born in Mytilene, so it was a perfect idea both practically, and sentimentally. They loved the set, and I do too.

    Frequently asked

Hand wash only, with mild soap and warm water — never soak or place in the dishwasher. Towel dry immediately and let them air dry fully before storing. Every 1–2 months (or whenever the wood looks dry), rub a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil, olive oil, or care balm into the utensils with a soft cloth, let it absorb overnight, then wipe off any excess. With this simple ritual, your utensils will stay smooth, water-resistant, and beautiful for decades.

Each piece is carved one at a time from a single block of olive wood, so grain pattern, color and shape will vary slightly. That's part of what makes yours one of a kind.
