About this piece
This is the same balm we use in our own workshop to finish every piece we make. Just two ingredients: pure beeswax and raw cold-pressed linseed oil. Nothing else.
Rub a small amount into your olive wood utensils, scoops, or boards whenever the wood starts to look dry. The beeswax seals and protects; the linseed oil soaks deep into the grain to bring back the natural color and luster. With regular care, your pieces will stay beautiful and food-safe for a lifetime.
The story
This balm was made for the olive wood pieces that come out of our small workshop on the island of Lesvos — the same island where, a few years ago, refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and beyond arrived after fleeing war and persecution. Today, those same artisans carve each utensil, scoop, and board by hand. A little of this balm keeps them beautiful for life — and buying directly supports the artisans and the lives they're rebuilding.

To apply, you simply scrape some balm out with your fingers and rub it vigorously into the olive wood coating all sides. You can than immediately wipe it back off, or for best absorption and longevity let it soak overnight and than wipe it dry the next day.
A trick if you want to soften the wax before applying you can put the tin in your microwave until it softens normally in 30 seconds, this makes applying it even easier.
We hand pour these in our workshop in Lesvos Greece.
