Employee Appreciation Gifts That Actually Get Used

Most employee appreciation gifts are forgotten within a week. These are hand-carved olive wood kitchen pieces, engraved with your logo, name, dates or a short message, made by refugee artisans in Lesvos, Greece — part of our corporate gifting program.

    Why most staff gifts fail

Consumables disappear. Desk items become clutter. Branded apparel only gets worn if it happens to fit and happens to be something the person would already wear. What all three have in common is that they ask nothing of the giver — and the recipient can tell.

A gift works when it survives contact with real life. A kitchen tool gets picked up several times a week, in the one room where the whole household sees it, which is why a $25 spoon outperforms a $60 gift basket on every measure except the size of the box.

Matching the gift to the team size

    • Under 50 people. Order 50 engraved pieces of one design and keep the extras for new hires, or send unengraved gift boxes instead.
    • 50–250 people. One engraved piece per person with your logo, shipped to the office or split across locations.
    • 250+ people. Keychains or coffee scoops keep the per-head cost down while still being handmade objects rather than promotional merch.
    • Distributed teams. Send a recipient spreadsheet; we address and ship each gift individually.

What makes an olive wood piece different

Olive wood is one of the densest hardwoods used in kitchenware, with a tight, closed grain that resists odors, staining and warping. Every piece is carved from a different branch, so no two grain patterns match — the gift your employee gets is literally not the same object as anyone else's. Each one is made by a refugee artisan on Lesvos earning fair wages, restoring dignity and rebuilding lives, and carries a code that leads back to the makers who carved it.

    Employee gifting, answered

What are good employee appreciation gifts?
The gifts that land are useful outside work, good enough to keep, and personal rather than promotional. A hand-carved kitchen piece gets used at dinner for years; a branded stress ball is in a drawer by Friday.
How much should I spend on employee gifts?
Most teams land between $15 and $30 per person for holiday and appreciation gifting, and $60 or more for work anniversaries and milestones. Spending more on fewer, better objects reads as more thoughtful than a large box of cheap items.
Should employee gifts have the company logo on them?
Keep it small and subtle. A gift covered in company branding feels like marketing; a discreet logo, a milestone year or a short line on the handle feels like a memento. One artwork runs across the whole order, with a 50-piece minimum per design.
What is the minimum order for engraved employee gifts?
Fifty pieces per engraving design. Engraving is $1.90 per utensil for 50–100 pieces, $1.50 per utensil for 100–300 pieces, $1.00 per utensil for 300–999 pieces, and $0.80 per utensil for 1000 or more. There is no setup fee. We do not engrave individual employee names, so the whole order carries one artwork or set per person.
Can you ship employee gifts to remote workers?
Yes. Send a recipient spreadsheet and we package, address and ship each gift individually anywhere in the US.
