About this piece
Meet the Handcrafted Olive Wood Coffee Scoops — hand-crafted from Mediterranean olive wood on the island of Lesvos, Greece. Choose the small scoop for 4oz coffee cup, or the large scoop for one 8oz standard sized cup of pour over or French press, or the complete set for both.
Olive wood is naturally dense, antibacterial and odor-resistant, so it holds up to daily kitchen use and only gets more beautiful with age. Every piece is one of a kind — the grain, color and feel of yours will be slightly different from any other we've ever made.
The story
Every piece begins as a branch of a wild olive tree on the island of Lesvos — the same island where, a few years ago, refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and beyond arrived after fleeing war and persecution. Today, those same artisans carve each one in our small workshop, by hand. Buying directly supports their work and the lives they're rebuilding through it.

Hand wash with mild soap and warm water, then towel dry. Never soak or place in the dishwasher. Every few months, rub a thin coat of our olive wood care balm (or food-safe mineral or olive oil) into the wood to keep it nourished and beautiful for decades.
Each piece is carved one at a time from a single block of olive wood, so grain pattern, color and shape will vary slightly. That's part of what makes yours one of a kind.
